Tim and Tricia Barrow have been missionaries with AEF and SIM.
Their first fourteen years were spent in Zimbabwe, the first ten of those in a very rural situation close to the Mozambique border in the beautiful East Highlands.
At Rusitu Tim taught at a small Bible College and later became Principal. Tricia was heavily involved in HIV/AIDS and orphan work. The last four years of their time in Zimbabwe was spent in Harare where Tim oversaw field leadership for the team and Tricia worked closely with their partner Church in multiplying the HIV/AIDS work church-wide.
They left what had become their home in December 2004 as Tim took up a Deputy Regional Director position in the new ROSA office (Region of Southern Africa) in Johannesburg.
They have four children; Michael, Ben, Sacha and Gabby. They are very under-resourced in the office and so Tim has had to take on temporary field leadership for Zimbabwe, Botswana, Madagascar while also having oversight for Namibia, Angola and Mauritius. His energy spent in these directions can inhibit the proper development of the ROSA office.

Overseas Mission

Tim and his twin Tom were born in Zimbabwe and grew up in Zambia where their parents taught at Chizela Bible Institute. Carol grew up in Seattle, training as a nurse. Tim and Carol met at Multnomah School of the Bible. They went to Zambia to teach at Chizela in 1973, and Tim introduced Carol to his childhood home. It was an exciting time in his life. He loved to teach and they both knew the call of God to serve there. After some years Tim, still a passionate teacher, became principal of the Theological College of Central Africa. These were challenging years as Tim led TCCA to become accredited. Carol served as nurse and teacher and was always Tim's greatest fan. In 1982 Tim completed his MA in Christian Education.
